I ordered an 8oz filet mignon medium rare, but it was served to me completely raw — ice cold and red in the center. Even our waitress commented on how undercooked it was. I took one bite before realizing just how raw it truly was. This morning I woke up with severe food poisoning symptoms. I contacted the restaurant to let them know, but the person who identified himself as the owner told me it was “impossible” that it came from their establishment because food poisoning supposedly takes longer than 12 hours, and because they “don’t keep any food that isn’t fresh.” Food safety guidelines clearly state that consuming undercooked meat can cause immediate gastrointestinal illness, especially when served cold/raw in the center. The response I received felt dismissive and concerning, especially considering the obvious undercooking of the steak. Just sharing my experience so others can be cautious
