Man I want to start this by saying, I am not a picky person / eater. Minor mistakes or stuff I didnt ask for, I can easily pick off & never mention it to the restaurant. But this is different... maybe new ownership? Or new management? Or just replaced the staff with significantly incompetent cooks. This was my favorite restaurant for about a decade now... never had any issues i couldn't just pick around. I ordered southwest chicken tacos, which comes with crispy, fried onions & southwest sauce. I ordered all rice because im not a "bean guy" The menu online hasn't changed.... nor in person.. my tacos came with raw onions rings, that maybe were held in the sunlight for a few minutes instead of touching the grill. Came with jalapeños, peppers, and chicken so burnt my cat wouldn't even take it 😅 The rice is now 75% tomato, which i would've asked to have removed had that EVER been included in their menu. Mind you, I ordered this same meal on Feb 9th. No problems there what so ever. Got about a dozen beans, which is the smallest of my concerns. They drew me in by their consistency, their salsa WAS unmatched. Now, it literally taste more like onion than salsa, as seen in the photo above. The chips seem to be outsourced now? & as I picked up my order I heard the lady mention to another customer, that "heads up, we've changed the chicken, caso, salsa" to which he replied, "you mean... everything i ordered?" We loved their chips & salsa so I ordered an extra bag on top of the complimentary one.. which when I went back inside to retrieve, I was told "they are in there" and I said not the ones I paid for... so she proceeds to toss them on the counter and head back into the kitchen. I am not the "send it back" type. If I hadn't worked 12 hours of construction today, have a fussy baby & pregnant wife to help out at home, I 1000000% would've returned this uneaten. But I picked apart what I could and ate what bits I could choke down. Whatever changes they made..... if not "un-done" we will absolutely not return. Breaks my heart 💔 On the Border may just need a border wall built around it at this point to protect the public 😅🤣 I want to reiterate, I was raised with manners, I was nothing but polite & understanding & expressed zero "unsatisfaction" until I opened my food at home (8 minutes away) and discovered what should be considered cuisine assault or Appetite Larceny. 😅🤷‍♂️ How is it not ready when I arrive and wait 10 minutes, meat burnt to a crisp, yet cold enough to give any normal person goosebumps. I have heated seats, believe me. I prepared for the pregnant wife aspect. To end on a positive note, one of the 3 salsa's tasted like the original. Which im sure my wife enjoyed. Maybe im over reacting? Or had a long day? But this feels justified. Beware to the regulars.

Our family has been going here for years, but they recently changed several popular items on their menu. (Without any notice online or on their menu). They changed their salsa, chicken, guacamole, and other items. The chicken is TERRIBLE.. way overcooked/burnt (I could barely bite through most of it, the rest was inedible), the flavor tastes as if it came from a bag and overall seems very cheap. The salsa has huge chunks of onion. The rice is half tomatoes now. My husband's southwest chicken tacos was mainly large raw onions, peppers, and jalapeños (which shouldnt even be in this meal, and no crispy onions which is typically the only topping. This has been our favorite restaurant for years but we will absolutely never go here again. Very poor changes to the menu. They also forgot the bag of chips, even the ones we paid for, apart from the complimentary ones.

It’s no secret that OTB has struggled as a whole and the experiences the past couple years haven’t been the best. HOWEVER, today was a pleasant surprise. With changes in management, our service and food was excellent! My family and I look forward to their comeback. Also, THEY HAVE THEIR LIQUOR LICENSE. It says on here they don’t but they do!
