Sugah Please Breakfast Brunch Bar was everything and more! From the moment we walked in, the energy was warm and welcoming. The service was amazing—huge shout-out to Lynn, our server, who was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish.
The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Portions were satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and experience.
And let’s be clear: Black-owned EVERYTHING, and it shows in the excellence, pride, and culture throughout the space. This is the kind of place you’re proud to support and excited to come back to.
Highly recommend—this spot is a must for breakfast or brunch! 🙌🏾🖤🍽️

My fiance and I had an amazing meal and service here! Darius was our server and he was very attentive and got everything to us quickly. As for the food... The speed of service did not lead to a disappointing meal. There were no issues I could give with anytime, especially that perfectly encrusted fried green tomato. Excellent brunch experience that left us wanting more!
A must when you’re in the area !!! The customer service here is amazing the moment I walked in we were greeted and told there would be a ten minute wait but we opted for the bar. Immediately we were provided water and silverware by AC the bartender. He was knowledgeable about the menu and provided a thorough overview of the popular items and his favorites. We opted for his recommendations and were not disappointed. The catfish & grits were perfectly fried and seasoned. The grits were the highlight of the show they were creamy and cheesy like the chef was from the south. We of course had to get beignets as dessert and the caramelized banana and pecans complement it so well. As the servers walked by they were all friendly and of course asking if everyone was good or if you need something. Ohhh and the rnb playlist was soooo good !!!

SUGA PLEASE in downtown Detroit is EVERYTHING. The food was A1, the mimosas were on point, and the atmosphere was such a vibe. Huge shoutout to Toya, our waitress — she was so sweet, patient, and genuinely amazing. I was being a little brat about wanting a flower for my drink, and she went out of her way to make it happen 🥹🌸 That level of service is rare. She made the experience unforgettable. Amazing food, amazing service, wonderful energy. I’ll definitely be back!

I’m really disappointed to be writing this because I’m not someone who leaves negative reviews and this is actually the first bad review I’ve ever written but this experience was completely unacceptable. We arrived at 2:00 PM and waited 40 minutes just to receive our drinks. My cousin ordered a coffee and didn’t receive it until an hour later. Our server let us know they were short-staffed at the bar where we were seated, which we understood, but the delays only continued. Our appetizers came out and were good, but after placing our food order, we waited over an hour and never received our meals. During this time, I noticed two other groups (the same size as ours or larger) were seated after us, fully served, ate their meals, and left, while our food still had not come out. Our server kept assuring us the food would be out soon, but by the time we had been sitting there for almost two hours, we were ready to leave. What was most frustrating was that management did absolutely nothing to address the situation. There was no check-in, no apology, and no effort to make things right. It honestly felt like they didn’t care at all. Poor service can happen, but lack of accountability and communication from management is unacceptable. This was a terrible experience, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this establishment.
