When I entered with my trained service dog, a male employee came from behind the counter and immediately told me to leave because “people here have dog allergies.” I calmly explained that my dog is a federally protected service animal under the ADA, but he said he “didn’t care” and that “no dogs are allowed.” Two security guards then came toward me aggressively. I clearly told them not to touch me, yet they continued closing in as if they were going to forcibly remove me. I’m a 5’2”, 120-pound woman, and I felt completely unsafe and intimidated by how they handled the situation. I was never loud or disruptive — I simply wanted to get their names so I could report the incident. Their behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Service animals are protected by law, and no one should be treated this way for exercising their rights. I sincerely hope corporate takes this seriously and retrains the staff and security on ADA compliance and basic professionalism.
