Great food! Service was phenomenal, steak was cooked to perfection. Came here on our anniversary, and was nothing but excellent service and terrific food. Will continue to come back and celebrate here.

My wife and I dined at Flemings in Birmingham last night, and although the decor felt a bit outdated, the overall experience was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts. They offered to check our coats and engaged us in a brief, pleasant conversation as they escorted us to our table. Their attentiveness and genuine interest in how our day had been made a wonderful first impression. Once seated, the host clearly explained the menus, pointed out the restrooms, and introduced our server; demonstrating a level of detail and professionalism that stood out.
Our server continued that high standard of service. He greeted us with a lighthearted joke and maintained a friendly, engaging attitude throughout the evening. He checked on us regularly and endured we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive.
The food was excelled. My wife enjoyed her steak, and the sides we shared were equally impressive. The presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted even better than it looked. The steak was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. We also ordered cocktails; while they were on the pricier side, they were balanced, flavorful, and well-crafted.
For dessert, the presentation was thoughtful and visually appealing; an elegant way to end the meal. The manager also visited our table to check in, which we appreciated as an added touch of hospitality.
As we were leaving, the hosts once again demonstrated the level of care that made the evening so memorable. They asked how our dinner had been and took the time to genuinely listen as we shared how much we enjoyed everything. They retrieved our coats promptly, and instead of simply handing them to us, they helped us put them on; an unexpected but truly thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about the pride they take in their work. It was the kind of small, personal touch that elevates the entire dining experience and reminds you why exceptional hospitality matters. We left feeling appreciated and well cared for, ending the night on a note just as positive as when we first walked in.
Overall, aside from the decor showing its age, every other aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. From the attentive hosts and the personable server to the delicious food and warm atmosphere created by the staff, our evening was truly special. Thank you to the entire team for providing such a memorable experience. We look forward to returning and enjoying another wonderful evening at Flemings.
Appalling experience by two staff workers from this restaurant. After already paying for a 2-hour parking spot located near the restaurant at 3:00p.m., with 5 kids in tow, my husband and I were rudely approached by two women telling us to move our car because their restaurant was going to open in 1 hour and the spot is meant for valet later in the day.
No sign posted indicating any such thing, and I already paid for parking. I was willing to move if they wanted to refund my money that I already paid through the parking app. They refused to do so. They asked if we would be gone in 1 hour when the restaurant would open. I paid for 2-hour parking, so the answer was no. They then proceeded to threaten to call the police in 1 hour.
Disgusting behavior. I let them know that my husband and I were just there for dinner last weekend, and after their terrible and unreasonable behavior, we will absolutely never step foot in that establishment. If I was the owner, I would rethink who I hire and their approach for how they speak to others, especially those who were actual customers just one week ago. What an embarrassment they were.
Update: The plot thickens. My husband found the police/parking attendant (male) and asked him about this situation. He told us that the woman from the restaurant tried to call him about our car, but when he asked them if they had a sign out before we parked and THEIR answer was NO, he told them they had no right to complain and we were completely in the right to park there. He told us not to worry and that he had just left there not long ago and told the woman we didn't do anything wrong.
However, we got back to our car at 4:30 with 20 more minutes remaining on our parking app and found a parking ticket on our windshield! The police/parking attendant (that we had just spoken to) and another parking attendant (female) were not far so we approached them to show them our park mobile app and ask about the ticket. The man immediately recognized my husband and told us that after he already told the woman at the restaurant we were in the right to park there, she flagged down a DIFFERENT parking attendant (female) and LIED to her, telling her that we parked there AFTER they put their sign out (CHANGING HER STORY since it didn't fly with the first parking attendant/officer). When they looked up our park mobile info, they could see we paid at 3:00, and that the restaurant worker flat out LIED to try to get her way and make us get a ticket after everything.
Both the police/parking attendants told us not to worry about the ticket and that unfortunately, others have had similar run-ins with this same restaurant worker. Truly despicable and shameful behavior.
Thank God both of the parking attendants were there at the right time and place to see that this woman went so far as to LIE about the whole thing to a second parking attendant when she didn't get her way, and tried to make us get a parking ticket when our app showed clearly we were able to park there with even more time to spare.
I hope the owner/restaurant manager reads this and realizes they have the wrong person working up at the front. I'm not sure what her position is, but I know she was there last weekend as well when my husband and I were there for dinner. She was abrasive that evening as well, but we didn't interact with her much during the visit. Her behavior today however was truly shocking, deplorable and unacceptable. Imagine how many other potential customers you are pushing away due to her extreme unprofessionalism.
Recently celebrated my birthday at this Flemings location and I have nothing but the highest admiration for the service and the food. Greeted with a warm welcome immediately entering the restaurant I was assured my evening would be a good one and yes. It. Was. Our waiter Jeremy broke down the menu extensively, gave excellent food and drink suggestions and took care of us greatly. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, espresso and truffle butter to literally die for, brussel sprouts crisp and potatoes cooked to perfection. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Clay- remember this name. He was our server and exuded customer service excellence! He made our dinner feel special and us feel like VIPs!
The portions of the food were outstanding given it is fine dining. I am tired of fancy overpriced miniature servings! I actually left full.
We had the 20 ounce prime steak, a 1 lb lobster tail, and the mushroom scallop risotto. Everything was perfectly cooked.
The highlights were- the incredible smoked old fashions, the crème brûlée that actually had vanilla bean specks, and the amazing customer service!
There is a parking garage right down the street when parking is free for two hours! Take advantage of that!
We will be back to celebrate our next big occasion! Bravo and thank you Clay!
