Great place! Went here for breakfast and got some ginger raspberry iced tea that I highly recommend along with a spinach feta wrap, also amazing! The staff were incredibly personable and helpful. Lots of comfortable seating focused on conversation and a lively environment that does a good job helping you start your day itself. 💯 ❤️

I really do like Sweetwaters for the options and varieties of drinks and foods. I found this place years ago when I visited Ann Arbor from Toledo for a meeting I was going to hear. Over the last few months I have visited one location the most in Ann Arbor because every coffee shop closes by 9pm in Toledo except for a few on the weekend that remain open thirty minutes later. So I decided to start driving to Ann Arbor and spend time until closing at this location to enjoy coffee and food in a different type of atmosphere. Unfortunately, the quality of how Sweetwaters once was has changed dramatically since COVID fully ended several years ago. One of the biggest issues I have is drinks being served at the countertop without a lid. It is up to the customers now to put lids on their beverages. Watching people wait for their drinks with sneezes and occasional spit in natural conversation coming out of their mouths naturally getting on exposed drinks is unnecessary. In addition, on two different occasions I was told I couldn’t sit anymore on the tables I was seated at outside because they had to lock them up an hour and a half before closing. And lastly, i wanted to get fresh brewed coffee one time at 10:15 as their pot had been brewed at least 45 minutes prior and was lukewarm at best and I was denied that and had to get an Americano instead. As an outlier I also have witnessed next to no interactions with baristas with customers here with any kind of warmth and at times the overflowed seating area closed well before the end of the night when it was somewhat crowded still. I sincerely hope the manager of this establishment will read this and know that changes could be made to improve the place to the glory it once held with coffee and tea establishments in Ann Arbor.

I love this coffee shop! I visit everyday, and most of the baristas already know what I’m getting , which makes me really happy that they even remember lol. Everyone is so nice and kind, which I really appreciate. Olivia and James are honestly AMAZING, and always offer the best customer service. I always enjoy my mornings at Sweetwaters.

The staff is very kind and friendly! I know I can depend on them to make the drinks I want and I always feel respected and taken care of. I love that it’s connected to the library too. I appreciate that upper management cares about the cleanliness and flow of their stores. I’ve seen them take orders, wash windows, and support their staff with care. It’s one of my favorite places to be in Ann Arbor!

First experience. $10 for a 16 oz iced mocha with burnt espresso. Ordered with peppermint, not sure if they put peppermint in it. Was questioned about why I would want an iced drink. Turns out the person who questioned my drink order was the person who made the work schedule, because while I waited for my drink to be made she loudly complained about the difficulty of making the schedule to the staff working, then openly said "I have [name redacted] scheduled that day. They won't be much help but at least they'll be here." An overall bummer of an experience.
