I had great expectations. They fell flat. Starting with the drinks. An upscale restaurant should know better than to use maracino cherries in an old fashioned. The Ceaser Salad had the core of the Romaine lettuce in it. The Mahi Mahi was dry and absent of flavor.

We had a bad experience at this restaurant. It was our first time here and we won’t be back!! The whole experience was bad. We asked questions about the menu and apparently that was our order. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer and they were disgusting, a very bad taste like they were old. I would 1000% not call this a fine dining experience. The waitress was obviously overwhelmed and made that clear. She made an ordeal of ordering a second drink and how she needed “manager approval” to be able to bring me a second drink. I will NOT be back here. I’ve never had a “fine dining” experience as bad as this!!

Nothing vegan so it's only a 2 star. Atmosphere and servers are lovely but it's unfortunate Gandy Dancer doesn't want the additional business b/c if you have one vegan in the group, Gandy Dancer is out. It also demonstrates a lack of community support as Ann Arbor strives for carbon neutrality (A2ZERO) since vegan options have a much smaller impact on the environment. (And please don't tell me you have something vegetarian - cheese is right up there with beef causing methane emissions since they are from the same place, and so many people are intolerant to cheese anyways).

Christmas dinner. Arrived 10 minutes early for a 6:30 dinner reservation but wasn't seated until 6:50. This wasn't that big of a deal. But 2 hours and 10 minutes total time seated was rediculous for dinner and this was taking our desert home with us. Waited 15-20 minutes for each cocktail order. Our waiter roy mistaken the order of NY strip for Prime rib so that took another 20 minutes to recive the correct order. Food was practically cold when served. This was a very poor experience for what should have been a memorable holiday dinner.

Went for an early dinner with my MIL who likes to be done early. Thought we’d give Gandy Dancer a whirl. Nice building and good ambiance . Ordered off the price fixe and regular menus. 4 people. $300 The chowder was very good. Of the entrees, 3/4 were tepid. The mahi was excellent. Perfectly cooked, very tasty. The steak frites and pasta were not. Steak frites are normally served in complement with a pan sauce. Ketchup and chimchurri don’t really cut it, although the chimichurri might have had it been any decent presentation. The pasta was clearly sitting in the pass long enough as it developed a cooled glaze / hazy finish by the time it reached the table and had exactly no hot portions. The steak was also cool. Disappointing. We could have lived with that, you win some, you lose some. The 20 minute plus wait for dessert and coffee though….no. Starring at a dirty table that long and then playing dish Tetris to get dessert was over the top. The crème brûlée was good, but not worth that wait. Don’t recommend.
