Let's start with the good things, the ambiance in Earth is great. They had stunning decor with a beautifully lit tree hanging upside down from the ceiling. It was well lit and thought it lived up to what I had heard from others. The food was another good spot, they had a great offering from their 4 courses and were willing to be flexible. I was happy with what I received (oysters, lamb cavatelli , venison, red velvet cake). Our waiter also added a couple additional dishes on the house, which is an appreciate touch to the service. (barley/mushroom, donuts).
On the needs improvement side of things. We waited ~40 minutes beyond our reservation time to be seated and while I don't want or expect others to be moved or hastened for me to sit down, I think having the hostess point us I'm the direction of the bar or the establishment providing some kind of welcome pour of a wine to enjoy while we waited would have been nice. Instead we stood in the small entryway trying to figure out a place to stand and feel out of the way.
As far as the service went it was alright, they seemed understaffed and it took longer to get the attention of the staff than we wanted especially when adding drinks on after our initial order for the food and drink.
My last note is on their beverage service. I ordered their version of a boulevardier and got a warm glass of whiskey, campari, and sweet vermouth with the equivalent of a typical cocktail cube chisled in half. I'd expect for the price range of the establishment to have a bar program.

Great ambience,/
attentive service, delicious tuna tartare and oyster appetizer
Both entrees, the venison and pork loin, were served with a sweet glaze which
Overwhelmed the palate -and obliterated any natural flavor - disappointing given the expense and reputation

We went here years ago and had an awful experience but thought we’d give it another try. Sadly it wasn’t much better.
The atmosphere is really cool but that didn’t make up for the meal.
It took awhile for our server to come over. We finally ordered our drinks and then meal after our drinks came.
It’s a price fix menu so you get to choose an item from each course with a set price of $105pp for 3 courses or $115pp if you want 4 courses.
I enjoyed the beet salad but the butternut soup didn’t taste very good and it had a big scallop sitting in the middle and small chunks of pear in the soup. Very strange to put a fishy scallop in butternut soup. My husband had the winter’s salad and tuna sashimi which was 4 very thinly sliced pieces that were soaked in soy sauce. We both got the halibut which was the best part of the meal.
So if you get the 3 course meal it’s about $35 per course…a tiny salad for $35? 4 very thin salty pieces of tuna for $35?? I’m sorry but this place is so over priced it’s ridiculous. After tip our bill was $311…for 2 people and a mediocre meal at best. We frequent Scales in Portland & Lost Fire in Kennebunkport and spend $250 for an incredible meal and go home with leftovers.
Side note: the ladies room toilets were all pink and slimy and haven’t been cleaned in weeks.. we will never go back!
The valet was very nice👍
