- BRBe R3 days ago5.0A very large store. Well lit and clean. There is a Starbucks inside the store. Plenty of parking. The store has a calm, rural area feel to it.

After completing my shopping I went to the register and there were no cashiers on the front line, and self checkout iwas the only option. I asked for a manager ( Katy) and asked her where was the cashiers? She informed me that there was one cashier and she was servicing the self checkout area because that person was on break and no one else was available. This is unacceptable and unfair. Self checkout should be an option and not forced on customers as an only option. I am addressing this because this has been happening lately in this location and this issue should be addressed immediately or I will go outside my neighborhood where I don't experience this inconvenience. Thank you kindly for your attention to this matter.

To say that this experience was night and day is putting it lightly. The gentleman at the seafood counter was excellent and the young brother who assisted me with purchasing a birthday cake for my wife was extremely helpful. Lastly, the customer service at the self-checkout was exceptional as well (the young lady with the head wrap was really cool). It was great to have a positive experience immediately after a not so good experience at another Safeway.
