So I just had a bad customer experience at Giant. Cashier Julia was really rude for no reason at all. Now I get that this time of year (New Year’s Eve) can be extremely frustrating for retail workers, but your job is still customer service first. I greeted Julia with a smile when I approached her line and got nothing. So I let that slide, figuring that she was engaged with the customer in front of me and didn’t hear me. Once I approached her as the next customer, I greeted her again and she gave me a look as if she didn’t want to be at work. I then asked if I could enter my bonus card phone number first before she began scanning… she looked at me, rolled her eyes and began scanning the items anyway. When I was ready to repeat my request again, she looked at me and said “it really doesn’t matter if you scan it now or when I’m done but go ahead” in a very nasty and hostile tone. I said “ it does make a difference because if you enter your bonus card information before you start scanning, you can see the bonus prices come off as you scan”. She rolled her eyes again and continue scanning the items. At the end of the transaction, I said have a great day and got nothing in return. No thank you, no happy holidays, no thanks for shopping, absolutely nothing but a rude stare. Julia is the type of employee who should not be in retail. I shopped at Giant around 5:15 PM on New Year’s Eve. Follow more reviews @IG: Robthefoodguy @eat_n_critique

I came here in attempts to get flowers for my sick mother. When I was in the checkout line, a employee of the name Julia was very hostile with me when the machine went off and said I needed cashier assistant. It went off once more before my purchase was complete and she proceeded to ignore the machines call for help and acted like helping me was an inconvenience to her before she made her way over to me.

This place has the worst customer service. Was driving through maryland and stopped here, first time coming here in years, not since i was kicked out for being there 2 days in a row. Yes thats what the manager told me was i had to leave because i was also in there the day before, picking up a snack after work. So today i went in and they dont have bags which was weird but ive heard some places do that, whatever. Had to remember my old maryland number since you have to have a phone number in the state the giant is located, so it took me a few tries and the woman working the self checkout came over without a word and just kept swiping her card while im putting my number in. I rang up one of my breads and put it in the cart because theres no bags. Now she speaks: no you have to put it on the scale." Ok, i put it on the scale, it came up on screen, i put it in the cart, rang up the next bread and it came up and i put it in the cart. "NO NO NO YOU CANT DO THAT YOU HAVE TO PUT IT ON THE SCALE." I told her i did, showed her how i rang up 2 breads and there were 2 breads on the screen. She cut me off telling me no i have to LEAVE it there. That makes ZERO sense. I cant leave my bread on the scale and then pile my frozens and meat and orange juice on top of it. It wont fit and the bread would get squished. Then at the end it asked how many paper bags i used, which i put in 0 because they dont have bags. It said thats an invalid answer, please wait help is on the way. To which she completely ignored me for a minute then rolled her eyes so hard her head moved with it. Came over and told me i couldnt use that number. Idk what number i was supposed to use, i used 0 bags. I typed 0. WHY is that invalid? She had to scan to override. Obviously the customer service hasnt improved since i was kicked out for shopping there 2 days in a row. Its AMAZING youre still in business treating people the way you do. Also what kind of grocery store in baltimore doesnt have berger cookies?
