Great food, excellent service, great atmosphere. Watch sports and or chat, Chef Selby is Amazing and actually comes out to mingle with his patrons. Chef encourages and invests in our youth and community…… My Daughter and I Love This Establishment.

My GF and I ordered dinner tonight and the collard greens she ordered wasn't included in her meal. Not only did Chef Kendall call us, he sent a driver to deliver extra large collard greens, a NY Cheesecake and a Chocolate Cake! Chef Kendall went above and beyond to make sure my girlfriend had a great meal. I would give the service 10 stars if I could!

We booked this restaurant over a month in advance to host our father’s 70th birthday celebration for more than 50 guests. The date was confirmed, and all money was paid in full. We trusted that everything was set. On Sunday, November 2nd. less than a week before the event scheduled for November 8th, the owner informed us that we could no longer use the venue because the space had been subleased. He also stated, in his own words, that he was aware of this sublease when he took our payment but hoped he could “work something out.” This was never communicated to us beforehand. This last-minute cancellation caused significant emotional and financial strain on our family, especially during a time when many of our relatives are impacted by the government shutdown. We asked if there was anything he could do to help, preparing the fried chicken or even a small appetizer, and he refused. He had already booked another event that day and showed no effort, empathy, or accountability. Throughout the planning process, communication from the staff was inconsistent and often unresponsive. We chose to overlook it and extend grace. But after seeing how the situation was handled in its entirety, we were left disappointed and honestly heartbroken. He would only speak with my brother and refused to communicate with my sister and I, which made the experience even more unprofessional. When people spend their hard-earned money, they expect to do business with someone who operates with integrity and good character. Unfortunately, this experience was the opposite. To say we were shocked by the lack of customer service and basic professionalism would be an understatement. I am writing this not to tear down a business, but to tell the truth and to protect other families. No one planning a milestone celebration. especially a 70th birthday, should have to go through this. I truly hope this never happens to anyone else.

I’m gonna give my honest option in hopes this helps for the future. I’m not trying to speak any negativity on the business. I gave Selby a try for breakfast since It was rave reviews about their food that made me decide to give them a try. Maybe breakfast isn’t their thing. I got the Egg, turkey bacon and homefries combo. The homefries were just cut up potatoes no onions no type of flavor. Very disappointed

Ordered dinner delivery online on behalf of my Senior parents they loved the fried chicken meals and the chocolate cake ordered in place of cheesecake not available. This is the second time I ordered for them. Angel was an absolute Angel Uber delivery driver. She was very patient with me and delivered the meal to the door on time and told my Dad he would enjoy the chocolate cake and he did. My parents will probably pick up food directly from Shelby’s the next time since they live very close to the location. My dad wanted 3 chicken thighs and I was able to request that in the order. Great job!! I live in Laurel Md.
