If you are profiled by the employees as a difficult customer, watch out. There is something very untoward about the climate here; this does not feel like a strong, healthy union shop where workers are valued compared to other competitor stores in the area. The store is small and is nothing like the Kensington location catering to affluent customers, unlike Giant where there is more equity and uniformity and professionalism across locations, not to mention a stronger union culture and much more floor and stockroom square footage and clean and accessible bathrooms for customers and workers alike at every location. Workers probably need more support and/or re-training in service; they may taking stressors out in the store too often especially when there is congestion and competition for the self-checkout registers. Customer service staff during the 2025–2026 holiday season / winter openly insulted customers over absolutely trivial situations, I witnessed this once and experienced a second time when I was trying to help out a vulnerable homeless youth who yelled at me about wanting my own phone back after he bullied me in the store room (long sad story but customer service and “security” staff yelled at me like I was the primary problem). The stress and property crime rate is higher in this part of DTSS and there are definitely inter-demographic tensions so that definitely comes into play, sadly. Safeway was hiring pre-holidays while Giant was hiring afterwards; that’s another metric of pro-management versus pro-worker/union shop health, respectively. Still rooting for this location to turn around but be careful with “customer service” and the front-of-store toughs, especially when they bad-mouth customers; they can turn hostile on a dime and over superficial situations. If they don’t feel safe (pun unintended) or are overworked, management needs to step up to the plate. Also this entire chain has historically practiced dynamic pricing; caveat emptor, folks!

I am a member for a long time in the store and usually I get good service but today(04/06/2026, I am very disappointed by the level of serice I got , one of the sales associate told me to help myself ! I was trying to buy this item from your store , while checking out, it was not giving meca discount and I aseked the sales associate it not working, intead she go to the shelf , she asked me to bring a picture and I went back to the shelf and took this picture and showed her this , she tried but it was not working abd she tried to explain to me , its a kind of buy one and get the second 50% off. As long as I know mix and match is not the same Item , the sales associate was behaving disrespectful.. and I told her i want to talk the manager and some body showed up , but did not bring any solution.. The simplest thing for me was not to buy the item , it was really a bad experience, I send a lot of money in this store! its very important that you responded to my comlain ! Thanks

I like the added equipment placed for loss prevention. Aside from that the staff is kind and always greets and assist. The meat selection is perfect and usually with a family deal deal. Parking is difficult in front of the Market but they offer a garage parking option. I go here for a reasonably prices
