  I avoid this place when possible. It is awash in mislabeled BOGO and weird coupon deals that sporadically disappear when you check out. When you raise the issue at checkout, they waste your time raising the question to managers who seem hell-bent on never keying in a deal even if the mislabeling was their fault.

  New Review: RAT Original Review: The quality at this Giant has dropped tremendously. From spoiled meat to quickly rotting produce and expired baked goods, to a messy store layout becoming the norm. The store itself is poorly maintained, with foul odors emanating from the butcher area, to air conditioners leaking, and the entrance always being clogged with carts. I feel as though the panhandlers should be asked to move away from the entry way to another area because I find it to be uncomfortable to have to regularly tell them no or ignore them. I know homelessness is a huge issue but the shelter provides food and the fact that they are high makes it obvious they are not panhandling for food. Sorry if that offends anybody. But all in all, security and staff professionalism are lacking. Employees behave rudely and confrontations coming from employees to customers go unchecked. This used to be an anchor store for the local community, but now that is gone.

  Selection/quality here is fine but the check out process is simply awful. They never have enough cashiers so the lines extend back into the aisles and it can take upwards of 30 minutes to check out during busy times, ie the weekend when most people are able to go shopping. If you chose to use the self check out instead, it is so sensitive the machines need to be reset by a staff member if you so much as move wrong. If this store is concerned about theft it's not going to be fixed by the machines incorrectly going off- this just assumes it's the machines that are the issue and not the people using them, plus the poor staff member who is tapping their store card every two seconds at a different machine doesn't have time to check what the issue is. I live in the neighborhood so this grocery store is technically the easiest but I think l might start going to the Safeway or Whole Foods downtown instead. Do not reccomend here if you are short on time or don't want to subject yourself to the hell of the self check out.
