My wife’s first language is Spanish, and her second language is English. She asked the employee, Maria Gonzalez, politely if she spoke Spanish so she could place her order more clearly and accurately. Instead of helping, Maria responded with a bad attitude and asked her “why” in an aggressive tone, which made my wife feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then, when we went to pay and asked the cashier, Kevin Martinez, for a water cup, he replied rudely, saying “no, no water cups,” and stared at us as if we had done something wrong. The overall experience felt disrespectful, and the customer service was very poor. I also spoke to the manager on duty, Edwin, about the situation. He listened, but I still wanted to make sure this feedback reached higher management because this type of behavior should be addressed. We come to Chipotle often, but this visit made us feel uncomfortable and unappreciated as customers. I hope management takes this seriously and provides proper training to the staff on professionalism, respect, and how to communicate with customers who may not speak perfect English. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.
