Great selection of organic foods and even snacks. I like getting my Lemon Coconut Shea Butter and soap from Biggs and Featherbelle as they are located in Jessup, MD

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for almost three years, and this Giant has always been the closest and most convenient place for me to shop. I come here often, and I’ve never caused any issues. I was raised from a young age to never take anything that isn’t mine, and I’ve lived by that lesson my whole life. Because of that, it’s really discouraging to repeatedly feel like I’m being watched or treated with suspicion. One evening, I came in to buy a few things for dinner, and a red-haired manager followed me through the store and acted like she expected me to steal. After I paid, she positioned herself near the exit and had the security man/ secret shopper standing there as if he was prepared to stop me. She even tried to peek into my bag to see if I had a receipt. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and honestly hurtful. I understand that this location deals with real theft. I’ve seen people eating items straight off the shelves, and I’ve seen police respond to situations here. I know it’s stressful, and I know the staff are trying to do their jobs. But the way I’ve been treated feels different from how other customers are approached, and it’s a heavy feeling when all I’m trying to do is buy groceries like anyone else. Today, something similar happened again. An employee who also works at a nearby fast-food restaurant came over to self-checkout and hovered directly over me, watching my screen, even though he didn’t do this with the customers standing next to me. It made me feel singled out all over again. I’ve also noticed that many staff members rarely greet customers and often look unhappy, which adds to the uncomfortable atmosphere — especially when there always seems to be time to monitor certain shoppers so closely. At the same time, the restroom has a strong nauseating odor you can smell just walking by, which makes me worry that basic upkeep isn’t being prioritized. I do want to mention something positive: the blonde woman with bangs at self-checkout is always warm, kind, and respectful. She consistently creates a welcoming environment. I’m sharing this because I genuinely hope the store can become a place where every customer feels comfortable and respected.
