While walking through the produce section with my child, I observed a manager, identified as Nancy, speaking to an employee in a loud, harsh, and humiliating tone. The employee, who was working quietly and respectfully, was subjected to this treatment in full view of customers. The incident felt completely out of place in today’s world. Leadership in any company should never involve public humiliation or disrespect toward team members, especially not in front of customers. The attitude displayed was unprofessional and left me with a very negative impression. I want to be clear that my concern is not with Giant as a company or its employees in general. Most of the staff at this store are helpful, respectful, and kind. However, management represents the brand, and behavior like this does not reflect the values I believe Giant stands for. I reported this to Giant’s HR department and understand it has been escalated to the district manager. I sincerely hope this experience becomes an opportunity for growth and reflection, and that all employees are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
