  Delicious food and attentive service. It’s tucked away in a corner but this South Indian restaurant is going to become a regular place from now on. Deepak was very friendly and helpful recommending which meals to try. Can’t wait to go back!

  The Chettinad Family Feast was the perfect meal for a school night, when everyone is tired of normal takeout or frozen food. Our family of four upgraded to the Chilli Chicken and the Goat Dum Biriyani, and the Pineapple Kesari for dessert. Our order was ready in ~20 min and packed carefully so there could be no spills. Everything was delicious and there was plenty for everyone. We opted for the Hot, which was definitely accurate as South Indian spicy. It was so tasty, we would have enjoyed mild or medium spice, but Hot made it a whole new level, especially when partnered with the soothing raita. If you have a group with mixed spice tolerance, add a side of plain rice, naan, or raita. All in all, we had a wonderful family meal where we could chat about our day rather than struggle over the stove.

  5/5! Went on April 11 as a late birthday dinner with my family and everything was amazing! The food was all crafted with love and care and the service was great! I got the special Chennai goat biryani and it was super flavorful! The mango pudding was also phenomenal as well as the Chai I got!! We will definitely be back!! Thanks for having us!

  We have become regulars at Chettinadu since rediscovering it last year. The food is well-prepared and very flavorful, including house-made chutneys and other items that most places just buy. We love the dosas and other south Indian specialties that can be hard to find! The owner is usually in the house and really cares about quality and his customers. Note that it can get quite busy at times!

  I highly recommend this cozy little restaurant in the Maryland area for excellent South Indian food. I was in the area for three days and ended up visiting twice for dinner even though the drive was long, that alone says a lot. The food truly hit the spot, with great value and warm, attentive service. Sitting there, I almost felt like I was dining at a local restaurant in Madurai, which is not something I’ve experienced often in the US. On our second visit, we had to wait over an hour, but it was absolutely worth it in the end. I’ve rarely felt this satisfied after dining at an Indian restaurant in the US.
