Today I was informed by the "attendant" at self checkout I can no longer buy gifts cards without an ID. This was new policy. Apparently no "manager" was available. He said he had to wait until I was done checking out, then verify my ID. Why does this punk want to see my ID? I have absolutely NO intention of showing anyone in Safeway my ID. I saw no posted policy and this child couldn't even explain to me why he wanted to see my ID. You do not need to see my ID for anything! Ever! I had a cart full of goods and since he couldn't tell me why he wanted to see my ID I walked out, leaving my groceries at self checkout. You lost me as a customer. What your company, through this kid did was illegal.
