Alright location. The meat shelves are absolutely disgusting. I was actually repulsed as I walked by them, the metal shelving is rusty, chipped away and just looks like something they pulled out the dumpster. The chicken section particularly. We chose to come here on Saturday instead of our regular Wegmans trip. They have basically everything you’d want as far as big brands go. We were disappointed to check out and realize only one register was open on a Saturday morning at 11am? Super weird. Tons of people working and having one register open just seems not efficient. Also, needed some butter and a guy was restocking the butter and couldn’t have been anymore dismissive to all the customers who needed butter and needed him to move. He seemed annoyed that we needed butter lol. But yeah, probably won’t come back here unless it’s an emergency. Oh and I needed some balloons and the kids working the register told me “sorry theres no one here to help with that” which i find hard to believe but if true, why have a balloon section if no one can help me with it?

This is what I sent to leadership. My family and I have not been back since. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the recent termination of Mr. James Getz from the Jacksonville, MD Safeway location. In the eight years my family and I have lived in this community, we have consistently chosen to shop at Safeway. A major reason for our loyalty has been the professionalism, kindness, and exceptional customer service demonstrated by employees like Mr. Getz. Mr. Getz has always been one of the most helpful and genuinely pleasant employees a customer could hope to encounter. I frequently saw him early in the mornings on my way to work, and he consistently greeted customers with respect, efficiency, and care. His presence set a positive tone for the store and reflected well on your brand. Learning that Mr. Getz was dismissed, especially while younger employees who are often distracted by their cell phones and display little customer service skill remain employed, I was extremely concerned. As a result, my family and I have chosen to stop shopping at Safeway entirely, and we do not intend to return. After reviewing community feedback online, it appears that many local residents share similar concerns and are taking comparable actions. This situation has clearly impacted customer trust and loyalty within the community. I hope Safeway leadership will seriously review the circumstances surrounding Mr. Getz’s dismissal and consider the lasting impact such decisions have on your customers and your reputation. Sincerely, Jason Adelung

Shame how they can they can inappropriately let a sweet long time employee Mr. James go for doing his job. But, employees at self check out can stand there on their phones. I will never shop at Safeway again.
