This is what I sent to leadership. My family and I have not been back since. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the recent termination of Mr. James Getz from the Jacksonville, MD Safeway location. In the eight years my family and I have lived in this community, we have consistently chosen to shop at Safeway. A major reason for our loyalty has been the professionalism, kindness, and exceptional customer service demonstrated by employees like Mr. Getz. Mr. Getz has always been one of the most helpful and genuinely pleasant employees a customer could hope to encounter. I frequently saw him early in the mornings on my way to work, and he consistently greeted customers with respect, efficiency, and care. His presence set a positive tone for the store and reflected well on your brand. Learning that Mr. Getz was dismissed, especially while younger employees who are often distracted by their cell phones and display little customer service skill remain employed, I was extremely concerned. As a result, my family and I have chosen to stop shopping at Safeway entirely, and we do not intend to return. After reviewing community feedback online, it appears that many local residents share similar concerns and are taking comparable actions. This situation has clearly impacted customer trust and loyalty within the community. I hope Safeway leadership will seriously review the circumstances surrounding Mr. Getz’s dismissal and consider the lasting impact such decisions have on your customers and your reputation. Sincerely, Jason Adelung

Shame how they can they can inappropriately let a sweet long time employee Mr. James go for doing his job. But, employees at self check out can stand there on their phones. I will never shop at Safeway again.

Giving one star because I have to. Mr.James a long time employee who loved everyone was let go. He was the only reason I would shop at Safeway in the mornings. I will no longer go there along with many other customers. Even my kids loved to see Mr.James. Gross how you treat long term employees they lost a good/loyal one.

Upon hearing a long time friend and employee of Safeway, James was inappropriately let go I walked out of the store, leaving my cart. Its barely a decent enough store to shop in, James made it tolerable. Truly despicable what they did to him. Now they have rude and unprofessional part time kids, no good morning, no hello, just employees that wander off and talk to everyone except customers. Safeway should be ashamed at what they've done at that store. Family and friends now boycott ALL Safeway stores. Horrible place!!

The last and only reason we shopped at Safeway was Mr James. We've learned he was wrongly fired but this wretched company. Might as well close this location, we will never be back, and this information is now all over nextdoor.com and Facebook. It's a pretty horrible store, but James made it better, and made each of his customers better. Safeway is truly a nightmare company.
