I am not at all surprised by all of the 1 star negative reviews. They don't have a self checkout unless you have less than 20 items. Other giants do, and this one used to, but not anymore. I use the self checkout anyway. I would use the correct one if I had the option. There are about 8 registers and never a line. No big deal. Tonight though, an employee decided I must be shoplifting. She kept rummaging in my cart after I asked her to stop, she had no reason to believe I wasn't ringing up every item, especially since she literally stood 2 feet from me the entire time. Embarrassing but whatever. I got down to my last 3 items and she suddenly told me she had to ring it up. I looked at the screen, nothing was wrong, I told her to leave my stuff alone while I went for a manager. I took note of my total before I walked away. As we came back, she had voided out my entire purchase and was pushing my cart away! Now I'm very embarrassed, I'm angry, and no manager had even come over yet. She rang up everything again, tried her best to ring items twice but another employee was watching her, and guess what? The total was EXACTLY the total from when I rang it up, and I am so glad I noted it and informed other employees. She was rude, she actually said "If an employee was watching me, I would let them" which is weird considering I did. Even after I made her admit this, I still had to force her to apologize. And all she would say was "sorry" in a very flippant, not sorry way. I get that now she felt very stupid, but the whole thing seems like the wrong way to handle her unfounded suspicions. I gave her no reason at all to think I was stealing. And even after she tried to double ring items, she still didn't want to admit she was wrong. And no manager the entire time. Worst experience ever. If anyone cares, this was 11/15/25 and the woman was an older woman with too much eyeliner and crunchy looking hair. She should not be allowed to interact with customers.

I’ve been shopping at this Giant in Pasadena, MD for years and normally love this store. However, during my recent visit, I was very disappointed by the behavior of two young front-end employees. While I and two other customers were using self-checkout with no one attending the area, these two employees were leaning on the customer service desk taking photos and videos of people walking by even making comments about them.
What really upset me was seeing them record one of their fellow employees to make fun of him for social media. He looked visibly tired and sad, and it seemed like this wasn’t the first time he’d been treated that way.
I called the store afterward and spoke to the manager on duty, who was extremely kind and understanding, but I felt compelled to leave a review because this has been an ongoing issue with some of the same young evening employees. It makes me uncomfortable to think I could be the next person filmed or mocked for a TikTok. I truly hope management addresses this, because I’d hate to see a store I’ve supported for so long lose its welcoming environment.

Stopped to get gas at 10am on my way to work and all of the gas pumps were closed. The guy said they were updating their systems. There’s got to be a better way of doing this rather than inconveniencing their customers.

The self checkout here is the worst. Go get sodas, or something bulky, all the same item, you’re required to scan each item individually, remove them all from the cart, weigh it, then put them all back in your cart vs scan a single case of soda five times and be done. It may sound trivial, but it’s a pain, and not as efficient as harris teeter or green valley. That, in conjunction with the younger employees pretending to be at a high school hangout has almost all but eliminated a family of four from shopping here. I sound like an old Karen, but hey, it’s better experience elsewhere.
