Our waitress was super sweet and talkative, we loved her!
The tables were well set with pretty lighting, and the chairs were very nice. There was a variety of appropriate silverwear and a cloth napkin.
Unfortunately, they allowed people to wander the restaurant selling wares? We were approached by one of these people before we had even looked at our menus. Granted a similar situation had happened at another national harbor restraint. But that man at least had tact, and offered a suitable item for the occasion, whereas this just felt rude and totally out of place. (Light up flowers for Valentine's day vs. some low quality leather good for no apparent holiday.)
Additionally, though I was excited to try my dishes, the fish and chowder were extremely salty. This may not be a problem for most, but it caused me to be unable to finish my food, which is a rarity for me. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the oysters, clams, and bread.
The two non-alcoholic drinks we purchased were well designed, but very sweet. It was like drinking strawberry jam!
Since we were celebrating a birthday, the waitress very kindly brought our table a mug cake with a heaping serving of ice cream. It was delicious.
Overall, the service was exceptional, but the price is far too high for the quality of food, atmosphere, and table wear. Enjoyable, but disappointing.

Weird experience but not bad.. our waitress was switched out after taking our drink order. They forgot the table side bread until right before we left. The smash burger wasn't really smashed. Calamari was PERFECT. Wagyu beef carpaccio was mostly just a bed of arugula for $18. Lobster bisque was very good.

This was our 2nd time dining here. We were here this time for our family Christmas eve meal party of 7. We made a reservation, so there was no wait. Atmosphere inside is nicely appointed. Enjoyed eating outside with views of the river before. Our server was pleasant and fairly helpful. Had to look for him for refills but all in all did a good job. The Shrimp Kisses appetizer is a must. Bacon & cheese wrapped shrimp. The main course food on the other hand, was disappointing for the price...The worst was the seafood fettuccine, VERY small pieces of shrimp & scallops with a jar tasting sauce. The portions of the broiled seafood was very small also. The steaks- filet & sirloin were the best part of the food we ordered. Well cooked, flavorful, decent portions. The swordfish seemed ok, but the side of greens took up most of the plate. The bread on the table was delicious, so there's that. I don't mind spending money on great food but not sure this met this standard. Would probably return for a lunch outside in the warmer months but not a formal dinner again.

Service was fantastic, we sat at the bar and the bartenders we're great. However, for this to be a steakhouse we ordered our steaks medium and the they were very underdone which is very surprising, the taste was good but you figure they would get the cook temps correct. This is too expensive to get wrong....

I was long overdue for a visit here as I haven't been to this location since at least 2013! So when a friend & I decided to meet up for lunch, we drove along the National Harbor site & I said I didn't care about where we dined, as long as there was a good variety of options. When she asked, "How about McCormick & Schmick's?" it was an immediate "YES" from me!
Upon arrival, there was only a handful of customers inside & we opted to sit at the bar. Our server was so nice & attentive. My friend ordered the Yellowfin Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl with a Sparking Passion margarita & I had the M&S Smash Burger with a raspberry (Moscow) mule. The cocktails were yummy & clearly made with quality ingredients. And despite putting my order in a few minutes after my friend, our food arrived at the same time. Nice.
Shortly after we began eating, more patrons arrived & the music was turned on...I don't recall hearing background music earlier & it really livened things up a bit.
Everything was beautifully presented & most importantly, it was all scrumptious. To my surprise, I received two hamburger patties, which were perfectly cooked. The cheddar & Fontina cheese combination was heavenly, as I could taste cheese with each bite. On top of that, the brioche bun was perfectly warm & toasty & the fries were freshly made. I probably would've devoured the serving plate if it wasn't made of wood!
