  I felt torn leaving this review because I love to support African business. But I was very annoyed leaving Suya Spot the other day. As a nigerian i don’t know that I’ve ever had beans without any pepper sauce..my friend who is american ordered the rice and beans not knowing how it’s traditionally eaten. When I realized they sold it dry on its own (which had no flavor) I assumed it’d be no problem to order the sauce. When I referenced I wanted to purchase some and that I expected ewa agoyin the lady fiend confusion as if she has no idea what I was referencing. She finally acknowledged my request with understanding, but insisted that I could only buy stew and she would not sell it if not purchased with meat as an entree. Normally this would just turn me off to another restaurant but I took personal offense assuming she’s Nigerian and understands how silly that sounds considering the way the dish is eaten in our culture.. I’m leaving this review because my people need to do better. If you’d rather jeopardize potential for future business for arbitrary reasons that’s your doing but you should realize the affect it’s having and hopefully strive for more as a business. Suya was decent but not the best I’ve had in the state of Maryland..Won’t be returning .

  My very first time trying fufu and egusi soup with meat and it was horrible. For $30 dern dollars I had one medium size piece of meat and 2 tiny pieces of meat and about 10-12 pieces of inedible rubbery pieces of I don’t know what that is but who could eat and chew that mess😳 If you are trying this type of food for the first time….It will completely turn you off from EVER eating this mess again. I threw everything away even my bowl that I put it in. I will try one more time at a different restaurant….of course but suya spot ain’t it. All my dern money for inedible mess😡🤬😡🤬😡was it supposed to be rubbery??? I for real wanna know.

  There a some places who value their customers and you can see it from the door and then there’s this place. From the small portions to the lady at the front acting as if it’s a chore for me to spend my hard earned money. I believe this place is only still open because of its location but I see it shutting down sooner or later. If you’re going to over charge for mediocre food at least do it with a smile… smh

  OMG!!! I am American but I hv been in love with Nigerian food for over 15years. I took my frd to try this Suya Spot on Joppa and loch Raven ....This is by far the worse food ever.!!!! The chicken gizzards are inedible-$9 for a bowl of fat.. The Suya small box felt heavy..Boy was we fooled. Who puts potatoes, cucumbers and onions in suya!!! Larrrddd. The owners cool put this place on the map...But in order to make money you must spend money. STOP CUTTING CORNERS. If the food is good and at a reasonable price people will patronize you... INSTEAD OF AN EMPTY LOT Trust I will never go to this establishment again!!! In the trash it goes!

  I ordered delivery and 3 things went very wrong. I ordered the stew tilapia and a side of pounded yam , white rice with stew beef the restaurant and the driver called me telling me that they didn’t have the fish. I wanted to cancel the order, but they told me that I couldn’t do it since I ordered online so I had to remove the fish That should’ve been my first clue not to order from them my first time order from them and my last time. food was delivered to the wrong address. I had to pick up my food from that place. Also the driver let my food spill so the sauce from what I ordered fell out the container. I’ve tried calling their number but no one has picked up. Where’s the service? It’s a shame because I was looking forwards to enjoying it.
