My husband and I visited Outback Steakhouse on Veterans Day to enjoy their advertised three-course Veterans Day special. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. After waiting nearly an hour for a table and another 15 minutes before being greeted by our server, we were told that the cheesecake dessert had run out. While that’s understandable given the busy day, no alternative dessert—or even a substitute like soup or salad—was offered. Additionally, the first course (a soup or salad) was supposed to be included, but I never received the salad I ordered. What was meant to be a three-course meal turned into a single course. We did order drinks, an appetizer, and the “Delmonico Ribeye,” but the food was lukewarm and the fried onion appetizer was soggy. Overall, the Veterans Day special wasn’t honored as advertised, and the service felt rushed and inattentive. It was disappointing, especially given that this promotion was meant to recognize veterans. Outback usually does better, and I hope future Veterans Day offers are handled with more care and organization.

They dined us without any utensils, and when we requested some, the staff was not particularly helpful. However, the manager was quite attentive once the concerns were raised. The food was exceptionally delicious!

When my daughter and I arrived, we were greeted warmly 🚪 someone even opened the door for us, which gave me a great first impression. We were seated quickly and handed three different menus in addition to the ones already posted at the kiosk, which was a little confusing but manageable. When our waiter came, I asked for water, our appetizer, and specifically the Three Course Menu. He left to check and returned saying they “don’t do that anymore” and that it had likely been replaced with the Veterans Day Special 🇺🇸 which required military ID and wasn’t at all the same. That was disappointing because I had planned to order from that menu. I ended up choosing something else I normally wouldn’t have ordered. I went with the Alice Springs Chicken (with cheese and mushrooms) and sides of mashed potatoes and green beans. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and fries 🍟 a pretty standard kids’ meal. My meal came out a full ten minutes before hers, which was odd. Then, when her food finally arrived, I noticed something floating in my honey mustard. It looked like a noodle 🍜 strange since neither of us ordered anything with noodles. At that point, I completely lost my appetite. When the manager came, I mentioned both the missing menu and what I found in my food. She confirmed that they do still offer the Three Course Menu and said she’d “speak with the employee.” When I pointed out what was in my sauce, she told me it was cheese 🧀 but again, offered no apology, no acknowledgment of the delay, and no gesture to make things right. What started as a warm welcome turned into a disappointing experience marked by poor communication, inconsistent service, and a lack of care in resolving issues. I left feeling unseen as a customer and uneasy about how casually everything was handled.

We had quite a wait even though the restaurant was not overly busy. I am guessing they were short-handed. The food was mediocre at best. My steak was not properly cooked, and it really did not taste too good. The chicken on the other hand was moist and delicious. There were rowdy old people at the bar area. One woman kept referencing her being in her 70's. She was behaving more like an undisciplined child. I did not travel all the way out to that restaurant to have my dinner disrupted. The service was decent even though some of the orders were incorrect. We got drink we did not order. We got a glass of water that had something in the ice. One of the sides that were ordered did not come until nearly ewhen the meal was finished. Again, I think rhey just did not have enough staff. By the way, the shrimp was not good, but the sweet potatoes were. This was our first time to that location, and I doubt we will be going again.
