- JSJohn SOct 5, 20251.0If this wasn’t in my neighborhood, I wouldn’t buy from Safeway in Quince Orchard. I often find expired meat, dairy, and shelf products. This has forced me to check every food product’s expiration or sell by date before selection. On two separate occasions, I have experienced a food-borne illness from the prepared food area which I can now see is being poorly managed without consistent temperature checks and sanitation standards. Having worked in the food industry before, I don’t see the minimum customer forward signals of doing the bare essentials (i.e. rotation of store management temperature checks and inspections, thermometers in prepared food temperature sensitive service settings, etc.) along with checking stock on the shelves. Grocery stores down the road are conducting these essential items and more. On one occasion, I overheard an upper management inspection commenting to the local manager about the need to clean the large amounts of mold present in the coolers and fridges. My selections are limited at best and I go elsewhere for meat and produce when I am shopping. Please check the best buy/sell buy/expiration dates, and be cognizant of how they are handling prepared food products. I fear what their back of house looks like…
