There were many customers attempting to check out with both large and small purchases. The self checkout lines, for 15 purchases or less, had a waiting line downthe aisle. And there was only one line open for non-self check out. That line stretched almost to the end of all the other closed checkout registers. I was approximately fifth in line when I started, and it took about an hour to get through the line. No one opened up a second line for the first at least half an hour. I tried calling the store to get the manager’s attention because it looks like there was full awareness of the long line and no one ever picked up. Then the cashier told me that this is standard for a Sunday. Avoid this Safeway at least on Sundays.
