  I’m honestly really disappointed with Giant Food lately. The produce quality has gone downhill BAD. I’ve bought lettuce multiple times now that was already going bad or straight up spoiled — that shouldn’t be happening this often. The salad section is a mess too. I’ve even found expired salads sitting out, which is just unacceptable. It really makes you question how things are being managed. Customer service is just as bad. I asked for help creating a Giant account and the associate straight up said she didn’t have time to help me… like what?? That makes no sense at all. On top of that, customer service in general is usually rude and unhelpful. The produce associate doesn’t even try to help either. Even when you ask them to check in the back, they act like it’s a problem or just brush you off completely. The whole store feels very unorganized now, nothing like it used to be. Honestly feels like everything has gone down the drain. At this point, it seems like this store is only getting by because it’s the only option in Urbana.

  This place has gone downhill fast. I used to shop here 6–8 months ago and it was actually decent, but now it’s a complete mess—especially the produce section. Half the time the fruits and vegetables look like they should’ve been thrown out days ago. I’m talking rotten oranges, moldy strawberries, and corn that’s clearly past its prime just sitting there like no one even cares to check. Nothing is organized, everything looks picked over and neglected, and the quality is honestly embarrassing for the prices they’re charging. They’ve got the nerve to price things like it’s some high-end grocery store, but the reality feels closer to a clearance bin nobody maintains. What really gets me is the staff. You ask for help—like if they have a fresher batch of something—and they just shrug or act like you’re bothering them. No effort, no accountability. Some of them are loud, acting weird, or just completely checked out. The cashiers look miserable, like they don’t want to be there at all, and it shows. The whole place has this off, uncomfortable vibe now. It’s honestly kind of shocking how quickly it fell apart. The only reason I still come here is because it’s the closest option—but if I had literally any other choice, I’d stop coming immediately.
