So we went to dinner Friday evening around 9. When we got there the place was empty no customers inside, right away it seemed like we were an inconvenience. Placed an order and waited. Now I asked for mayo on both buns. Not a crazy request. We got our food and I unwrapped the burger to find so much mayo on both buns, you could have used it for the next 20-30 burgers. It was disgusting and Inedible. It felt very intentional!! I got up immediately, showed to what seemed like the manager on duty, who immediately apologized and remade me a new burger. While we waited, we could feel the staff mean mugging us and giving us dirty looks. Made us very uncomfortable.
I’m happy to say the new burger was done correctly and Appropriately. Overall taste was good.
My concern is that the manager was there with the employees the entire time they were making my food. So did he know ? When I looked at the receipt it said extra mayo. In all my years going to Five Guys, I have never had issues asking for mayo on both buns.
I have never so uncomfortable in Five Guys
Anyways this was experience. Please be aware of this place.

In terms of food, Five Guys never dissapoints but the ordering process was a little messy, the guy that took us (great attitude) made a couple of mistakes on one of the burgers, amd when I explained to him the solution he presented was not really clear...
But an angel (another assoc) heard us, came to us and with a smile offered to make me another one on the house.
it was very nice from her even I offered to pay for the new burger, but the guy said they will charge me anyway (?), I gotta say that mixed info confused me, but I said to myself "whatever, I don't mind paying for another burger as long as they got it right".
So, he told another assoc to ring me (she seemed a little overwhelmed) and just after I paid the smiling lady came with my burger, she noticed that I just paid and communicated with the manager to waived the charge in order to make it right.
Kudos to her customer advocacy.
The mamager was super quick and nice and took care of the misunderstanding in no time.
Also, the bottle lemonades that they gave us where expired but they quickly swapped them to good ones. (It will not hurt to peridodically check what is on display)
Overall, I give them 4 due to their willingness to advocate their customers despite the miscommunication and errors.
That coffee shake was killer!
What is the Five Guys story/How did you guys get your name?
Five Guys began its pursuit to redefine the global burger landscape in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell asked three of their sons whether they wanted to start a business or go to college. Now, three decades after our first location opened in Arlington, Va., Five Guys – a fast-casual restaurant chain named for the Murrells' five sons – serves a classic take on hamburgers, fries and milkshakes in more than 1,700 locations across 24 countries.
You can read more about the story of Five Guys at www.FiveGuys.com!
How many restaurants does Five Guys have?
As of January 2026, we have more than 1,900 locations in over 24 countries!
Does Five Guys offer delivery?
Most North American locations offer delivery. The best way to find out if the location nearest to you offers delivery is to visit our website or download the app.
Additionally, we work with all major third-party delivery companies in the U.S., including DoorDash and Uber, so feel free to search for Five Guys through their platforms!
Does Five Guys offer gluten-free options?
The only products we offer that contain gluten are our buns, hot dogs (Canada only), HP sauce (UK only), and the malt vinegar condiment for our fries. In Canada, our Poutine Gravy condiment also contains gluten. All of our sandwiches, including burgers, hot dogs and the veggie sandwich, are available without a bun via our wrap or bowls.
While our crew members do all they can to avoid it, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. Please review our nutritional, ingredient and allergen chart for the most accurate information.
Why does Five Guys have peanuts for free?
Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
What is the best way to reheat leftover fries?
Leftover fries are excellent reheated in the oven (or Air Fryer). According to Chad Murrell, one of the Five Guys, just pop them in a 350-degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Also, give those leftover fries a try as hash browns, home fries, or even as the filling in an omelet.
Why is Five Guys switching from a fry cup to a fry bag?
We are switching to fry bags to ensure your fries stay fresher and as part of our larger commitment to the environment. The bags allow air to circulate better, so fries stay fresh during delivery and takeout. Same portions, same great fries – just smarter packaging that’s also better for the environment.
