Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredible. I had the fufu yam and spinach stew, and it was packed with flavor. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. I also tried the soya and OMG… it was next level. So tender, flavorful, and made just right.
The atmosphere was just as good as the food. The place was clean, the vibe was great, and the music really set the tone. It felt warm and homely, like you were eating somewhere special but still comfortable.
Definitely coming back again! Highly recommend. Serving size is pretty big too

Waiting extremely to long for our appetizer that never arrived after 30 minutes. Of course the main never arrived after at least 35 minutes. Paid for our drinks and left - respectfully. I understand it’s a small business but do better, communicate with the customer, provide some customer service in these situations. Totally ruined our dinner because it was 10:45pm when we left and all other areas kitchens were closed. I’m sure they waisted for that they tried to prepare and we wasted time and a meal. Bar back was amazing even tho it was his first day.

As someone picky about authentic Ghanaian food, I can confidently say El-Afrik Cuisine & Bar exceeds expectations. The restaurant has a cozy, sleek vibe with AfroBeats and Highlife playing subtly in the background, creating the perfect atmosphere. Every dish is flavorful and expertly prepared, especially their soups and jollof rice, and the staff are professional, personable, and deeply knowledgeable about the menu and culture. For anyone in Frederick, MD looking for great food, warm service, and an unforgettable experience, I highly recommend El-Afrik.

Honest review here. We went to this restaurant this past valentine. we got there and the host was not there, we wait for a little bit to get seat and no one came to asked us anything after waiting for a bit, we were just standing in there and everyone was just looking. finally a very nice lady accommodated us to a table, I want To mention that we did have reservations. After being seated we wait for our sever for like 20 minutes to came to our table, she finally took or order (her name was Yvonne) we order 2 simple cocktails drinks that took 1 hour plus + minutes to arrive to our table, we order 1 appetizer and two entree. our entrees came first after 45+ minutes our order was taken. They completely forgot about our appetizer and we have constantly reminded our server about our drinks. We were very excited about going to this restaurant after driving 1 hour from silver spring to Frederick. The food was delicious or we were just very hungry but it taste good thats why I’m giving 2 stars but the costumer service was very bad since the moment we got there. Not to mention that we got a extra charge of $25.99 in our bill for something that we did not order, so please paid good attention to your bill. If we ever got back to this restaurant will be only for take out.

This hidden gem in Frederick has quickly become my favorite West African spot. The food is fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly affordable—suya, okra stew, and pounded yam were all amazing. The staff, especially Albina and Osei, provide exceptional, thoughtful service, and the restaurant is kid-friendly with a dedicated menu. The décor is modern and inviting, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and every visit feels like a full experience. Highly recommend for great food, generous portions, and a welcoming vibe!
