  This restaurant surprised me in a good way. The food came out hot and delicious, and the presentation looked amazing. The staff worked quickly and treated us with respect. The environment was clean and peaceful which made it a perfect place to enjoy a quiet dinner.

  I usually enjoy CAVA, but my experience at the Columbia, MD location was very disappointing. The staff were rude and didn’t make any effort to be friendly — no greeting, no eye contact, and the service felt rushed and unwelcoming. It really took away from the dining experience. I hope management addresses this, because good customer service makes a big difference. I’d love to come back if the staff were more attentive and polite.

  CAVA is indisputably the best fast casual restaurant to ever come up in the DMV. Variants in the “healthy” fast casual market (i.e., DIY salad or bowl spots) come nowhere close. I could eat CAVA everyday for the rest of my life and be happy, and I am not ready to say that about any other restaurant. It’s the selection of ingredients and the many permutations of them that allow you to concoct a bowl suitable for pretty much any dietary need, restriction, or palate without sacrificing flavor. There are virtually no misses in options/offerings, which again, exceptionally rare for fast casual where usually flavorless, cheap filler ingredients abound. There is a culinary mastermind behind this whose hand I’d like to shake one day. A few examples: their pickles are insanely good- not the sweet, sugary variety (sorry if that’s your preference), but a wonderfully tangy bite I wish they sold in jars. The dressing/sauce options are insanely good- yogurt dill, shkug, garlic…I’ve been to Greek spots that don’t come close to this sauce perfection. The pita chips are as delicious and addictive as fries, so I only ever get them as an occasional treat to share because I would demolish them. The drinks are so good- real juices and teas that I sacrilegiously combine into various delicious concoctions. The app is solid and gives you a calorie estimate as you build your bowl so you can stay mindful. You can earn rewards either by buying via app or scanning your app QR code upon checkout. Columbia CAVA has always been a clean, reliable local option. And they’re open for dine-in and pick up until 10:30pm!! Which is awesome in the suburban wasteland of Columbia where your alternatives will not be remotely healthy. It’s a nice place to eat or hang out in, it’s laid back and not rowdy and plays fun indie music. I am finally compelled to write this review because I went today and the braised lamb was gone. CAVA, what happened? Everyone who loves lamb knows their braised lamb is insanely good. Is there a sheep tariff? Shortage? Please bring it back!! You can raise the price or make it seasonal, but gone forever would be a heartbreak for CAVA fans.
