When I came in to pick up the cake I noticed the sloppy writing on the cake, I asked them to fix it and she claimed she had to make a whole entire brand new cake. Even though I knew she could scrape the words and do it again. So, I had no choice but to try and fix it myself with some edible black writing gel that I also had to buy from giant aswell.

Through the packaging, it appeared fresh—but looks can be deceiving. Within 24 hours, when I opened the package to prepare dinner, it released a putrid, foul, and extremely unpleasant odor. The lamb was clearly spoiled. I immediately sealed it in a plastic bag, tied it tightly, and placed it inside a Giant paper bag. After a familiar staff member opened the bag, the odor was overwhelming and made me want to vomit. She immediately processed my refund and promptly contacted the store manager. Although not rude, the manager was unapologetically rigid and unwilling to offer any concession for selling spoiled meat, ruining my dinner plans, and wasting my time. Even a simple coupon would have sufficed. In the past, Giant’s customer service policies made customers feel valued and whole. There are several grocery stores in the area that consistently provide excellent products and customer service. There is no reason to risk purchasing meat—or any other questionable items—from Giant when better options are available. I left and went to Harris Teeter. Will I return to Giant? I will avoid purchasing meat there for the foreseeable future. For the sake of convenience, I may return for items that can be easily checked for freshness.
