    My husband and I stopped shopping in person at the Giant in Burtonsville because the store layout makes absolutely no sense, it’s consistently overcrowded, and the checkout process feels like an obstacle course. After one too many frustrating trips, we decided to switch to delivery. First, we tried DoorDash — which was a disaster. Multiple failed orders. Drivers canceling after hours of waiting. Incorrect items. Three hours of back-and-forth and multiple calls to customer support with nothing to show for it. So we thought, “Fine. Let’s use Giant’s actual website and app.” While it’s already a downgrade (no ability to properly chat with a shopper or easily manage substitutes), we hoped it would at least be reliable. Tonight I placed a delivery order around 4:30pm for groceries for my family for the week. After hours of waiting with no updates, I tried repeatedly to contact the store directly — no one answered. I called the corporate number and was transferred THREE times and spoken down to, despite being calm and polite the entire time. I was assured that my issues were resolved and that my delivery was on the way. At 7:30pm, the order was marked as “Delivered.” It was not delivered. It was nowhere in sight. I tried calling the store again — no answer. Corporate had closed at 7pm. When I finally got someone at the store, I was told there was nothing they could do because they only “shop” the order and once it leaves the store, it’s “out of their hands.” A manager did ultimately refund the order in full, which I appreciate — but that does not solve the problem. We are now left without dinner and without groceries for the week. This is not acceptable. Between the chaotic in-store experience, failed third-party delivery attempts, and now a missing order marked as delivered with no accountability, this location has proven to be completely unreliable. Refunds don’t replace the time, stress, and disruption caused. Do better.

    I always love doing my regular grocery shopping at Giant, and I make sure to stop by the deli every time. Brendan is always there with a great smile and is incredibly helpful whenever I need something. He truly makes the experience better and brighter.

    I shop all over the area for general groceries, but specifically for my families lunches, I shop at this Giant. Brenden, the deli rep, is always knowledgable of different cuts and brands of lunchmeat. It's always sliced perfectly the way I request (while he remembers my preference, I change it from time to time) and is always fresh! Kudos to Giant in Burtonsville for keeping fresh stock but moreso to Brenden for always being a smiling face with a welcoming personality and knowledge on the product he's serving. Sounds crazy to be so passionate about a deli sandwich, but people don't leave enough "positive" reviews when something that seems normal to others is a great customer service experience to me!
