Had not visited a Five Guys in about ten years. This week, I visited the Five Guys in Bel Air and was so glad I did. First of all, I hate, hate, hate the "place your own order kiosks / screens". When new to an eating establishment, I don't know the menu, and would like some guidance. So, my first visit to Bel Air was great. Brian Aiken was the customer service rep who helped me, and he was absolutely fantastic. I told him that I had not visited a Five Guys in 10 years, and I totally forgot the menu. He walked me through all the options on the overhead menu. Then he offered me a hand copy of the options if I could not see the overhead menu. He answered all my questions and advised that since I did not want one of the "included" toppings, I could double up on another. They say customer service is dead, but not at Five Guys when Brian Aiken is working there. He was so kind and patient.

I recently visited and the experience was deeply disappointing. The crew on duty consisted entirely of what appeared to be immature teenagers who displayed a complete lack of professionalism, minimal attention to food preparation standards, and an overall indifferent attitude toward customer service. Most concerning was the quality of the food itself. The burger was undercooked, with it being cold and raw in several areas despite being ordered well-done. This raises serious food safety concerns and rendered the meal inedible. Additionally, the fries were noticeably soggy and greasy, lacking any crispness. It was evident that the staff had allowed the frozen fries to thaw over the fry oil prior to cooking them. Five Guys has long been recognized for consistent quality and fresh preparation, but this visit fell far short of those standards. The combination of undercooked meat, improperly handled fries, and unprofessional staff made for an unacceptable dining experience. I will not be returning to this location and strongly advise others to exercise caution or choose a different outlet. Management should address staff training, food handling procedures, and oversight to prevent such issues in the future. And the prices are ridiculous. $4 for a drink??

The burgers are routinely great, but the fries are consistently undercooked at this location. I don’t want to bite into a raw potato. I understand the type of oil makes the timing more difficult, but I don’t run into this problem at other Five Guys locations; bad fries ruin a meal just as thoroughly as a bad burger does. Service is generally excellent, if they get the fry situation more consistent, this is a 5 star location.
