  The new security system is terrible. Left there exhausted. I wanted to do a customer service transaction and then shop, I had to exit and then go back into the entrance door cause all the isles are blocked. While there i saw a worker step over a gate to come to the aid of a customer and that's workers comp waiting to happen.How bad is it? Literally why is there even security at the door? Is security making sure the security system working? One isle open maybe or move the customer service desk maybe, idk but I literally left there thinking if it's this unsafe then maybe I shouldn't be here.. everything's block to where even the law bidding can't get in or out. Ouch!

  Safeway at harford rd installed security gates to enter and leave the store. Upon leaving the self checkout area there was no instructions saying how to exit. So I assumed the gate opened as exiting. Apparently not, so I next decide to go through the gate thinking it's manual, (no instructions posted at this time) well when that doesn't work the employee who should have been there to see this ,as the gate is new, comes out of nowhere screaming at me about not breaking the gate. At this point my 63 year old self is getting upset because I don't like being unlawfully held against my will. And the attitude of these employees aren't as some people say. They are NOT polite. My point is, install all you like, but if it affects the public put some signs up. You might know how it works because it's yours but some people don't.

  I often get the impression at this store that asking for assistance is viewed as an inconvenience. During a recent visit, I had an issue with a coupon at self-checkout. The employee who came over seemed annoyed that she had to pause her conversation to help me. She dismissed my concerns, saying she knew what she was doing, and in the process, my reward points were removed from my cart. Fortunately, online customer support was able to restore the points to my account, but the in-store interaction left a negative impression. I’m not expecting over-the-top friendliness, but basic courtesy and respect go a long way. Being civil to customers shouldn’t be that difficult.
