- MWMatt WilsonFeb 24, 20262.0It's a grocery store. It's well stocked. My problem is the self checkout, which you almost certainly will be using. If you have a full cart you have to scan and fill a bag as you'd expect. But when you move the bag to make room to fill the next bag it thinks your absconding with the groceries and locks up the scanning. Then the attendant has to unlock it. It's absurd. I had it lock up multiple times during a 200 dollar order. If you have 15 items or less, self checkout is great. But a big order? It's a study in frustration. My question for Giant is does stopping some small percentage of theft outweigh me not shopping there?

GIANT 6330 YORK RD LOCATION On multiple visits, I have observed deli employees handling food without changing their gloves between customers or tasks. Gloves are often only changed when a customer specifically asks, and when I have requested this, the response has felt dismissive or uncomfortable. Proper glove changes are a basic food safety practice and should be followed consistently without customers having to ask. This behavior raises concerns about cross-contamination and overall hygiene. I am bringing this to your attention because I value your store and want to feel confident about the food being prepared and served. I respectfully ask that this issue be addressed through staff retraining or reinforcement of food safety protocols. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
