Unfortunately my experience fell far below expectations. The atmosphere is rustic, but not in a warm or intentional way, it comes across more dingy, including the bathroom, which set the tone before we even ordered.
We arrived at 10:03 AM, just three minutes after opening, and were the only customers there along with the staff. Even so, it took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, everything was barely warm.
I ordered the French toast sticks with a side of bacon, just to keep things simple. The French toast was extremely greasy, and the bacon was so over-crispy it wasn’t edible for me. My partner’s breakfast plate also arrived lukewarm. Despite not eating my food (though still paying for it), the waiter was noticeably dismissive and nonchalant about the issue.
Based on my experience, I personally would not recommend this restaurant. However, I recognize that food and atmosphere are subjective and others may feel differently. Dine at your own risk.

The music selection during our visit was definitely geared towards people much younger than we are! It was also very loud. As always, the food was good to great depending on which dish. Service was good though at times distracted. We were there early, so I suspect there was set up work being done for the evening crowd. We were early since we were headed to the theatre.

Its overall a nice spot. Been going for several years. Kind of my go to spot in Hamden. Food is good and the ambiance is cool and local. The renovated back patio is great when the weather is nice.
Only street parking available. Downstairs bar is tight but nice. Sometimes they inexplicably remove a great entree from the menu for odd reasons like seasonal or the chef likes to change things up.
Why remove your best dish?

This place had its heyday, but no more.
Could not get to the hostess stand because she thought it was VERY important to tell the group without reservations why, in detail, they would have to wait. They argued and wanted a seat while MANY people piled up behind them. We had reservations but were ignored while the hostess went back and forth with the people who didn’t have a reservation. Where was the manager?
Service was slow, and inconsistent/-at least they were pleasant.
Took forever to get drinks (they were both expensive and boring), food came, one order was wrong. We said “whatever “ because we didn’t want one person to wait another 30 minutes (they offered to take her plate to fix the error-nope).
Food: burgers were fine but clearly pre-formed frozen meat was used, not impressed. If you wanted more than meat, tomato, lettuce and onion there was an up charge.
Waitress brought the bill, let us know the tip was added but we could “add more if we wanted.” Nope.
I can go to a better place and spend just a little more for a really nice experience.
Poor management, slow service, boring food all for 50+ dollars 🙄

Drinks were great. Food was decent. Service was horrible.
My brother and I planned brunch a week ahead of time. We looked at this place online and I thought it looked cute and the menu caught my attention Hocus Pocus vibes. But WHooaaaa did I expect more out of this place. Customer service was not good- not friendly at all. Despite it not being busy the staff was not attentive. Wouldn’t go again. 👎
