The food was good and the view is definitely a highlight, but the experience had a few challenges. The menu felt limited, and several items weren’t available. The menu had also changed without notice, which made choosing dishes a bit confusing. We also weren’t informed about a private event at 9 PM, even though my wife booked the reservation for my birthday, so the evening felt a little rushed. Our server was pleasant but not very proactive. Overall, a decent spot with great views and good food, but some communication and service improvements would make a big difference.

Topside, located at the top of Hotel Revival, is rolling out upscale drinks, elevated eats, and top-notch service. Enough with the puns but the sentiment is legit - Topside boasts some
of the best views of the city and for good reason. Set 14 stories in the air, you have a great view of city and can see all the way to Natty Boh with everything in between.
The food, drink, and service: Topside offers a good happy hour with a nice selection from PBRs to manhattans. The menu also has a nice selection from simple favorites - sliders and charcuterie to more extensive dishes like scallops, short ribs or salads. The wait staff was very attentive but not overly smothering. They allowed our rather large party to trickle in, get settled and enjoy our meal and even hurried up when we had to scoot for a showtime. To our delight, they even said goodbye by giving us a champagne toast to make the evening extra special. Thank you Topside!
If you're in the area, definitely stop by - you wont be disappointed.

The atmosphere and view are impeccable as was the service. The cocktails were also quite tastey, even if the portion size was less than you would get at a comparable cocktail bar at the same price range. The food, while cooked well lacked flavor to the point I needed to ask for salt and pepper since they weren’t on the table. The food could have used other seasonings as well, but I doubt they would have brought additional seasonings if requested. For the size of the portions, quality of the taste in comparison to the price, it was overpriced. Comparing other restaurants of a similar price tier such as Magdalena, The Ruxton, The Charleston, etc. it does not compare. I also find that in the handful of times I’ve eaten he ate over the last decade, the menu has largely remained the same, although I recall the taste being better. Perhaps this will be better as a happy hour location rather than dinner.

Topside was the last thing we wanted to experience as our stay in Charm City drew to a close. Staying at the Revival made it easy to take the trip to the top floor of the hotel to enjoy the expansive views of historic Mount Vernon. We were greeted by friendly staff shown to an amazing harbor-view/monument view table and presented with the menu of favorites. Since we were there for brunch, we opted for the coffee and OJ, and both were great. The Chesapeake Benny and Croque Madame both pleased us with their generous portions and well-seasoned flavor. Adding to the ambiance was the friendly but professional service of the staff. Prices were in-line with other similar restaurants of similar caliber with the upside of the amazing views. In other words, if you want the view without a premium price, make a reservation for Topside. Sadly we missed trying the dinner menu, but I'm sure we'll be back on our next visit to the city!
