  The customer service was out of this world amazing. Hope helped us with answering questions about the menu and even recommended her faves! She knew that menu like the back of her hand! She even visited our table afterwards to check in, she was so genuinely friendly and outgoing! Food was yummy as always ! Thank you for a great experience!

  Absolutely amazing all around. The server (a blonde young woman) was beyond amazing - honestly the most friendly person I've met in a restaurant in a very long time. She was so kind, in fact, that when she had some free time in between customers she opened the front door to offer a glass of water to the man shoveling snow outside - just because she wanted to. The food is also incredible - I love the gluten free options because a) it is very hard to find a place that doesn't deep fry everything in one basket and therefore find any truly gluten free fries (that also aren't breaded, of course); b) find a place that has even a half decent gluten free bun and this one is actually so good you can't even tell it is gluten free (so good job!!). The Cajun burger was divine -the sauce was perfectly applied in the right amount and had bold and spicy flavor. The burgers are served with 2 patties, which is at least double the amount of meat of almost any other restaurant I've been to in my life, and the meat is tender and flavorful. The toppings were fresh. The fries taste great and a regular size was actually too much for the 2 of us because we were so full off the burgers. My partner ordered the breaded chicken BLT and the size of the piece of chicken was crazy (in a very good way) - they do not cheap out on ingredients here! The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The restaurant itself is very cozy for dining in and has a wonderful retro/nostalgic feeling to it. Our only Suggestion would be for the owners to consider using tallow for the fries instead of canola oil - if you truly want to go "way back", this is how fries were made and it is truly the best and only way in my opinion. You would be pretty unique in the Winnipeg market if you made this change (only 1 other restaurant I know of who uses tallow for deep frying French fries, but there might be more...) Been here a few times now....Highly recommend this place if you want a quick and delicious meal!!

  This location on Pembina has fantastic and attentive service from when you place your order till when you leave. They are genuinely interested in how you liked your food here and eager to please. I love the Cheeesy Burger and also enjoyed the hot dog and Classic Burger and Chicken Burger. There’s a good variety of sides to include with your burger and everything is freshly prepared on demand. I highly recommend you try it!

  I don’t really leave reviews on anything unless it’s a bad experience, but this visit to Wayback blew me away. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Props to our server (didn’t catch her name) who went far above and beyond the service that you can expect from a typical dinning experience. She was very attentive and personally made sure our order was correct and to our liking. Not to mention she had a beautiful singing voice. (Yes, she sang us a song on our way out). Way to go Wayback! We will be back soon.

  The burgers are great but the staff is exceptional. They are sweet and attentive and they truly are making your food with love and passion. I had the Cheesy one day and the Classic a couple times - both excellent. The House made chips are a must try and the milkshakes are delicious. Don't skip over this gem.
