I’m genuinely surprised to be writing a negative review for this restaurant because it’s normally one of our go-to places. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was hands-down the worst experience we’ve had.
We arrived fully expecting a long wait for a table — 45 minutes — because of our group size, and that part was completely understandable. But from the moment we were seated, it felt like the staff wanted us out the door as quickly as possible. The pacing was rushed and uncomfortable, and it set a negative tone for the entire meal.
The food, which is usually reliable, was also a letdown. Portions have suddenly become very small for the price point, and several of our group members left still hungry — not something I’ve ever associated with this restaurant.
To make matters worse, none of the simple substitutions we requested were allowed. We were told (by our server — who was genuinely lovely and clearly not at fault) that items like swapping beans for a salad or vegetables for a salad weren’t possible. Instead, we ended up having to order those items à la carte and pay extra, while refusing parts of the meal we couldn’t eat. Not once did anyone ask whether substitutions were related to allergies or intolerances — something that’s pretty standard in most restaurants now.
And the final cherry on top: it was my birthday. The hostess asked about it when we sat down, so I assumed there might be at least a small acknowledgment. I truly don’t need a free dessert or a big show, but there wasn’t even a simple “happy birthday” or “thank you for celebrating with us.”
Overall, the experience felt rushed, restrictive, and unwelcoming — a complete contrast to what this restaurant has always been for us. I hope this was just an off night, but given how many things went wrong, it’s hard not to feel disappointed. I’m really hoping management takes a closer look at the portion sizes, substitution policies, and the overall guest experience, because something has definitely changed.

We were seated in the lounge and had Emery as a server.
Best service experience in a very long time. Foo was fantastic. Did the surf and turf since it’s on special right now.
Emery was amazing, made great suggestions and helped us order before even looking at the menu. Never had a drink run dry.
Recommend ask to sit in Emery’s section. 100% best service ever.

I had the Pitmasters combo, and nothing on the plate was really that good. The brisket was dry and bland, the wings were more breading than meat, and the ribs were just barely better than the brisket the for dryness and flavour. It's pretty bad when the French fries are the most memorable part of the meal.
While the staff was friendly, there was the constant upsell push throughout my visit which I find very off-putting.
There's other options around Polo Park, and you'd probably be better off utilizing one of them.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, having rated it 4.4 stars and planning to celebrate my anniversary dinner there. However, my experience was far from what I imagined. The cold food was the worst part, and I don’t think I’ll be returning. It ruined my first impression of the place.
