- KMKeith MuraczApr 14, 20265.0I've always thought this location was one of the better Burger King drive-thrus in the city, but today I had my first taste of BK since they introduced the "upgraded" menu items. First, the service at this location is always friendly and if it's not - you're likely the problem lol Second, the food. I ordered a Bacon and Cheese Whopper with onion rings Wrapped and in a box, as I've seen on the US commercials. The new bun is good and doesn't have that weird aftertaste it's had for years, plus wasn't spongey in that uncomfortably familiar way. Burger was juicy and firmer than I recall and tasted very fresh. The new onions rings are more typical of a "battered" ring you'd get at a George's or similar - AND you still get that elevated zesty sauce that makes it just a little tastier than other fast food joints. All in all, the flavors remind me of BK in the 80s when we had high school friends working there and we'd eat it frequently. I agree with many that BK hasn't been great for quite a while and was generally my last choice for fast food burgers. This has changed my mind! Good stuff UPDATE: I went back again immediately after I finished lunch and thought I should try their "new" crispy fries. The verdict? Think a cross between McDonald's when they were still the best fast food fries and Wendy's when they first introduced their upgraded fries a decade or so ago. Slightly larger than McDonald's, crispy on the outside, waxy and well cooked on the inside; salty as a good drive thru fry should be. Definitely worth the money! A+
