Example: the first thing you see when you walk in is a stanchion setup that tells you the line starts one place, then has arrows pointing somewhere else. Looking around, it feels like the inside is midway through renovation, featuring white paint and a huge plastic sign (also white) screwed into the back wall. At least they kept the lovely stonework from the Italian restaurant that used to be there. The staff are nice enough, but not overly helpful, and have a tendency to disappear into the kitchen for prolonged stretches of time. Which doesn’t sound so bad, until you look around and realize there are no visible employees to be found when you have a question, or want to add to your order. When you do see staff, they tend to actively avoid eye contact if they’re not ringing you out or handing you your food. Like I said, the food is pretty good. Just don’t go in with any sort of time constraint (even if you ordered ahead on the website), and don’t expect to leave with that warm, fuzzy, “I enjoyed my time here” feeling.
