- SPScott PaivaJan 18, 20261.0I've been living in Somerset for almost 4 years now. I'm very disappointed in the selection of grocery stores in the area. Prices are ridiculous. Stop & Shop says they lowered their prices. They did and not by much. They were way overpriced to begin with and still overpriced. They show you an item with a $2 off price. Yeah, $2 off the stores high price. I've been shopping at Market Basket in Raynham/Taunton on Broadway my whole life. I still go out of my way to get great savings on everything in this store. (Even when it's not on sale!) They have no self checkout which is fine with me. Plenty of people working the registers. Think about it! You're paying alot for your groceries and you're checking them out and bagging them for S&S. Not only are you putting someone out of a job but you're saving S&S alot of $$. Are they paying you for checking out and bagging your groceries? I HOPE THEY PUT A MARKET BASKET IN THIS AREA SO WE CAN ALL ENJOY A LOYAL AND FAIR STAFF AND GREAT PRICES.
