Absolutely horrible! I can't even begin to describe how bad they have gone down since the new owners have taken over. The entertainment was a one man singer in the bar, way to loud!.. There was an extra charge ( 2$ ) to split a meal, the salad bar was beyond gross. Frozen. The ownen tried to tell me the town regulations make him keep the temps that way..I work in the food industry.... Wet frozen lettuce is gross! There was a woman arguing with him in front of our table with the worst perfume I have ever smelt in my life..... And not for anything, they could have taken it to another room, It did not have to be in front of a customer's table. Which totally turned off our appetite because of the smell! We waited over an hour for our meal wich was baked stuff haddockwith lobster. I wish I had taken a picture of that It was four tiny little pieces of lobster The haddock was gray and for some reason it just didn't taste right which as I said we had split the meal. We each had a bite and we were done. Our total bill wasn't much It came to a total of $40. 39 and some change and yes we did tip the waitress! We will never ever will we go back again! .

Always great service and food. Plenty of parking and reasonably priced. They have a mini salad bar and 2 choices of home made soup that is always excellent.

Perched just over the New Hampshire border in Salisbury, Massachusetts, The Hungry Traveler has been a favorite stop for locals and road-trippers since 1973. Its unassuming roadside exterior hides a warm, family-style restaurant known for generous portions and classic New England comfort food. The menu runs from prime rib and baked haddock to clam chowder and lobster pie, all served with that small-town hospitality that’s made the place a Route 1 landmark for decades. Weekend mornings often bring long lines of regulars waiting for breakfast plates that could feed a family. With its mix of seafood, steakhouse traditions, and friendly, no-rush service, The Hungry Traveler feels like a snapshot of coastal dining before the chains moved in — the kind of restaurant where the staff still remembers your name. #hungrytraveler #salisburyma #routetravel #newenglandfood #massachusettscoast
