if I could give zero stars, I would. I am not a picky person at all and I always support staff, especially in chain restaurants. This was unacceptable. Tonight, I arrived at this chipotle around 6:30 PM. I stood in the line that was out the door (on a tuesday, mind you) And decided to place a mobile order instead. My pick up time was at 7:15 so I got back into my car and chilled out. I went back inside around 7:30. I proceeded to wait for my order until 8:45. when I walked in, the entire floor was flooded, presumably from a drink machine. That’s fine, not a problem. I understand that it is out of the staff’s control. There were about 25 other people besides me waiting for their mobile orders, and the staff was not making any mobile orders or helping the people in the regular line. There was one person helping the people in the regular line, and about 7 staff members standing in the back corner gossiping with each other in Spanish. I understand Spanish, and they were just chatting it up while there were people that had been waiting there for well over an hour. If you would go up to the counter, they would act annoyed that you were waiting for your order. I have never had a problem with this location before, and I have no idea why the staff was acting like this tonight, especially when it’s so busy. At one point, they had 5 mobile orders that were completely ready just sitting behind the counter, not at the mobile order pick up counter, just on the countertop behind the main counter. A lady that had been there for well over 30 minutes with her 2 young children, asked three times if they could hand her her order because she could see it taped over with a sticker, meaning that it was done. All of the staff members completely ignored her. They turned around and looked at her and turned back around and went back to talking. She decided to walk around the counter, grab her order and just walk out. I wish I had done that, but I don’t have the guts lol. I waited an hour and 15 minutes total inside the store for my order, even though I went into the store 15 minutes after it said it was completely ready. There was a poor boy that had been waiting there since before I got there and his order was for 7 PM. It Was well past 8:30 at that point and he had still not gotten his order, even after asking the staff multiple times if they were almost done with his order because he had been waiting for over an hour. They would act like they were going to look for his order and then completely ignore him. If I had done this at my customer service job, (also in the food industry) I would be fired immediately. This is completely unacceptable. I will never go back to this location again. I understand if it’s a slow day in the staff just wants to have fun or if they want to chat while they work. I do it too. But when the line is out the door for both mobile orders and in-store orders, they should be working on the orders and not just standing there talking. And when I say they were not preparing the orders, I mean it. they were standing in a little corner just talking to each other. Then, when I got home, after finally getting my order an hour and 15 minutes later, my bowl was missing three items, had the wrong rice, and the wrong meat. I’m just appalled because I have never written a review before and have never taken anything back in store or have never spoken up against slower customer service because I understand it, but this was just insane. Don’t waste your time going here.
