  Love Indian food, but it’s a problem when the customer cannot customize their order they’re paying for, especially the spice level. I requested no spice/mild and was informed by the server that it was “okay” and “all set”. Food looked great! Unfortunately, the customer’s request was not honored; the food was 🌶️spicy🌶️ which did not make it enjoyable and couldn’t finish it.🥵 Will not be returning and do not recommend for those that prefer mild flavor profiles.

  I’ve been a regular customer here and usually love the taste of the food, which is why I keep coming back. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I specifically requested less masala and more rice, and I even called the restaurant to make sure this was clearly understood. Despite that, the order arrived with excessive masala and was very spicy—completely opposite of what I asked for. While the manager did offer a refund or a replacement, the issue here is not about compensation. It’s about consistently following customer instructions, especially when they are clearly communicated multiple times. I value the quality of your food, but attention to customer preferences and service consistency is just as important. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and improvements are made.

  Always delicious and so many options! We've really enjoyed exploring the menu and finding delicious dishes that are new to us. They mow have ipad menus, so we can get a look at every option available to us! Highly recommend!

  I have visited on several occasions. It USED to be arguably the best Indian cuisine in Norwood which is pretty impressive given the diverse portfolio of options. Now the food is very mediocre. The quality has gone down dramatically I mean the difference from 2022 to now is pathetic. If you’re seeking significantly higher quality more fresh tastier Indian food in Norwood MA I would visit these 3 other places mentioned below in a heartbeat Norwood spice (Norwood center ) Paradise biryani off providence hwy) Minerva ( off providence hwy ) Not a bash at anyone specific just unhappy with how the quality has gone down the taste has gone down I hope 1947 can turn things around as a former frequent patron. It’s evident they are cutting corners and decreasing quality to cut costs and increase margins but it’s not right to try and deceive American people who usually dont have as much knowledge

  IMO they have the best Indian food in Norwood! Anytime I go, I am the only white girl in there- which I love- that's a small glimpse into how I know it's authentic and really good!! Their spice level is 'true to spice' and not on an American scale... hot means hot, baby!!! The butter chicken is my favorite. If you want good, authentic, 'non-Americanized' Indian food, this is your place!
