- GGg gMar 31, 20245.0This Tropical Smoothie location is one of the ONLY healthier fast casual options in the north end, and it’s always busy because of that fact. Folks complaining in other reviews have obviously never made a smoothie before, preparing the food takes time, because it’s actually made with real ingredients. The service and food have always been good and consistent. Most of the employees have also been there for a long time, which really describes how this place is being managed correctly. The secret is to order on the mobile app. Never do the drive thru because you never know if a minivan mom is going to be in front of you with a 5 smoothie order with 3 orders of food, and then expects the food to come out in less than 2 minutes. Prices have gone up, but they are very consistent with other fast casual places in the area. The most annoying part about Tropical Smoothie is that they use styrafoam cups for their smoothies, that’s more of a corporate (they are based in the South) issue rather than a franchise issue, so I am not going to fault them for that.
