    After my girlfriend and I both got food poisoning this week, I went back through our groceries and found candied ginger that expired 11 months ago. This is the 3rd time in the last year that I have gotten home to find expired food in my bag. We also see mice in here almost every evening we go during the colder months. It’s a shame because the pricing is decent and it’s on the way home. Not worth having to check every label. Keep your family’s health in mind and shop somewhere else. Update 4/7/26: After reading other reviews, I decided to go back in and see if this was still a big issue or if I’m just unlucky. As photos show, it’s an issue. This is what I found in just 15 minutes.

    Baggers need better training. Always overfilling those cheap paper bags. Shaws please invest in stronger bags with handles like your competitors. My wife stopped going here cause of bags, and its a last resort for me. Also, noticeably replacing brands with their own “Signature” house brand, thereby reducing selection.

    Hello, I am writing to report a very serious incident that occurred at Shaw’s Market in Medfield today between approximately 3:20 PM and 3:33 PM. I purchased two lottery tickets at the counter (not from the machine), each priced at $10. Because my English is limited, I made a clear effort to prepare in advance by holding two separate $10 bills and trying to communicate my request as clearly as possible by saying: “$10 Mega Millions and $10 Powerball.” However, instead of receiving basic customer service, I was treated with extremely rude, dismissive, and disrespectful behavior. The staff member threw my money onto the counter and acted as if I was wasting her time, simply because I could not speak English fluently. Let me be absolutely clear: I am a paying customer. I came prepared, I paid in full, and I made every effort to communicate despite my language limitation. I was not asking for help, nor was I asking for anything beyond a normal transaction. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and reflects clear discrimination based on language ability. No customer should ever be treated this way. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Please inform me what actions will be taken to ensure this does not happen again.
