The food quality at this location can be good — especially compared to other stores like Terminal B, Back Bay, and Beach Street in Malden — but the customer service at 980 Eastern Avenue is extremely disappointing. I specifically asked for my croissant to be crispy, and the bacon came out soggy and unappetizing. I also requested to replace sugar with mocha in my coffee, and instead of correcting the order, the staff laughed among themselves and clearly did not take the request seriously. What bothered me the most was the unprofessional behavior. Some employees openly talk about customers and laugh right in front of them, which is unacceptable in any customer-facing business. This happened on a Sunday morning, involving the male employee working that day and other female staff members. The only positive experience I’ve had at this location is with a very young girl who works at night — she is polite, professional, and actually understands what customer service means. This store has potential, but the staff needs proper training and supervision. Respect for customers should be the minimum standard.
