  Today we experienced an extremely unpleasant and humiliating situation at Stop & Shop. My husband went to the store and used the self-checkout, paying for all of his items as usual. While he was still at the register, after completing the payment, he was approached by an employee and the store manager, who told him he could not leave until they searched his bags, claiming that the system indicated an item had not been paid for. Even after he repeatedly asked them to check the receipt — which clearly proved that everything had been paid for — they ignored him and proceeded to search his bags anyway. This was done without any respect, professionalism, or even a simple apology. We have lived here for 8 years and have been regular customers of this store. The self-checkout often has issues and we frequently need assistance, but we have never been treated with such disrespect. What happened today, Sunday (26th) at 6 PM, was humiliating. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled and with the lack of basic respect toward loyal customers. You lost a customer today — we will never step foot in this store again.

  My deliveries are always missing items that I'm charged for! Improve quality control standards on orders before handing them off to delivery drivers! With so many errors i've decided to order from Shaws and since they don't deliver I'll pick it up. Better than missing half or more of my order then having to explain to a customer service person, who are not always nice, to get refund on missing item!!!!

  I had a very unpleasant experience with Kathy at the self checkout. She is not helpful, rude and insulting. Stop and shop in Franklin used to be a nice store with nice employees. There are a lot of grocery stores in this area and I would rather happily chat with Ginny at Shaw’s (what a lovely lady) than get yelled at by Kathy at stop and shop when I try to utilize my $17.00 in rewards points (indicating more than $1700.00 spent). I’ll take my money up the street because stop and shop clearly doesn’t want to retain me as a customer and has a fraudulent rewards program that doesn’t actually allow you to use the points you earned.
