  I've been going to this Star Market for over a year, normally have very good experiences. However, today (Sunday around 1:30PM), I witnessed a manager/supervisor person speak quite disrespectfully to an employee. He was micromanaging, asking why they had earbuds on them (who doesn't have earbuds these days?) and insinuating that they might be used for listening to music (gasp) or holding conversations behind management's back (paranoid). He continued making instrusive comments about this employee's commitments outside of work in a condescending manner. The whole time, this employee was just trying to get back to their shelf stocking, so the supervisor was actively making the store operate worse. It made me uncomfortable as a shopper and a person, and I'll really have second thoughts about doing my shopping here if I see similar behaviors going forward.

  If you live nearby, it makes sense to use this supermarket as a convenience store. You can find a few deals, especially if you sign up for their program. Produce quality is mixed, high volume items are generally fine - but some lower volume items (fresh herbs for example) can be in sad shape. Staff often seems sad and demoralized. Some people seem annoyed to have to deal with customers. For big orders, I suggest Market Basket if you can avoid or tolerate the crowds. Prices are much better there and turnover is high - so the perishables are generally fresher.

  Meh It's mediocre at best. I'd rather hop the green line and go to the one at north station or walk to market basket. Kermie thinks its awful too

  In the U.S., I only get the real strawberry flavor when I buy them from here.
