  EVERY food item was terribly salty — the sofritas, salsa, even guacamole, numbs your tongue. Sodium content through the ceiling you could feel your body try to flush it out desperately after eating. Staff was also rude — there is a promo flyer but no one can help me figure out how to get the advertised promo.

  Boston was unforgiving that evening—one of those bone-chilling winter nights where the cold seeps through gloves and scarves, hovering around -15°C, the kind that makes you question every step outside. I had just wrapped up my day and wanted something quick, warm, and familiar before retreating back indoors. Right across the street sat a Chipotle. Easy choice, I thought. A franchise. Predictable. At the very least, decent. I had glanced at the reviews earlier and noticed quite a few negative ones, but I brushed them off. How bad could it really be? Unfortunately, those reviews ended up echoing my exact experience. Inside, the place felt rushed and oddly disengaged—as if everyone was physically present but mentally somewhere else. The food wasn’t bad in a dramatic way, but it lacked care. Ingredients were kind of plopped together without much thought, no rhythm, no warmth—culinary or otherwise. Portions were fine, so no complaints there, but the bowl felt more assembled than made. What stood out most was the absence of energy. No sense of pride, no friendliness, no attempt to elevate even a routine meal. It matched what many other reviewers seemed to be saying: inconsistency, lack of care, and a general feeling that the heart just wasn’t in it. On a night that cold, I was hoping for comfort. Instead, I got something forgettable. Not terrible—but definitely below average, and not the Chipotle experience I expected.

  The place is small, making it difficult to sit comfortably and eat. Despite catering to many university students, the service and attitude are very poor (at least that day). Some of the staff preparing the dishes showed zero friendliness and courtesy, and were constantly distracted by each other, as if they forgot they were there for the customers.
